Privacy Policy

Effective 13 October 2026

Taperwise has no account, no servers, no analytics and no advertising. Your health and training data stay on your iPhone and Apple Watch. We, the developer, never receive any of it.

Who is responsible

BitSpire GmbH, Sinserstrasse 67, 6330 Cham, Switzerland, apps@bitspire.ch. See the legal notice for full company details.

What we collect

Nothing. Taperwise contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs and does not send any personal data to us or to third parties. There is no sign-in and no user account.

If you choose to share diagnostics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymised crash reports and usage statistics under Apple’s privacy policy. We use them only to fix bugs.

Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold and never shared. Imported runs are written to Apple Health only if you say yes when importing.

Apple Intelligence

If Apple Intelligence is turned on on your iPhone, Taperwise can write short coaching notes. They are generated only by Apple’s on-device language model (Foundation Models framework) from your training summary; Taperwise never uses a server-based or cloud model. The text and the data never leave your iPhone. If Apple Intelligence is off, the feature is simply not shown, and you can switch it off in Taperwise settings at any time.

iPhone and Apple Watch

Your iPhone sends today’s session, run settings and map areas directly to your paired Apple Watch, and the watch tells your iPhone when a run is finished. This uses Apple’s WatchConnectivity between your own devices; nothing passes through our servers, because there are none.

Maps

When you are online, map tiles are loaded from OpenFreeMap, which serves OpenStreetMap data. Like any web request, this reveals your IP address and the map area being viewed to OpenFreeMap. No account, location history or health data is sent. Offline map areas are downloaded when you ask for them and, on Wi-Fi, around your recent runs (you can switch this off in Settings). Map areas you have viewed are cached on your iPhone. Drinking water, toilets and public transport stops shown on the map come from the same OpenStreetMap tiles; your position is never sent to look them up.

Your control

This website

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). When you visit, GitHub processes your IP address and request data to deliver the pages and keep the service secure; see GitHub’s privacy statement. The site itself sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads no third-party fonts or scripts.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you can ask us what data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. Since Taperwise collects nothing, there is usually nothing to report, but write to us any time.

Children

Taperwise is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly process their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
